D.A.R.E

This year Room23 have been learning about the D.A.R.E education program. our class have been learning about this program so we can make better choices in our lives.

D.A.R.E stands for:
D= Decision making
A= Assertiveness
R= Responsibility
E= Esteem


The second meaning is:
D= Drug
A= Abuse
R= Resistance
E= Education

During our learning we have had constable Andy and constable Shree come in and teach us for D.A.R.E and we have had some great times. constable Shree is our main officer and she has been teaching us about the D.A.R.E education program. We have a special box called the choice box that is the place we can put questions on a piece of paper and she will read them to the class and will answer them we ask her questions about what it is like working in the police force. D.A.R.E is a very fun educational program and we have learnt alot about it.

Making the right choice

Tim woke up at his desk. The Teacher was yelling at him for falling asleep while she was teaching. How can you learn if you are asleep Timothy, Aye? She said. I can’t Miss. Said Tim just getting his sleepy eyes properly awake. DEE-TENTION after school today! Oh Miss please not today; I’ve got stuff on. Please? Tim moaned. Timothy don’t argue with me. After school ok? Fine! Tim yelled.
Ring, Ring, Ring the bell rang and all the kids hurried out of the classroom and so did Tim, without being seen. Tim goes to Pukekohe Intermediate School and is a year 8. He just broke the rules.
Tim was the first out of the gate. Each step he took he got slower every pace. Tim started to walk over to the Riverside Dairy. He was incredibly hungry. Tim finally reached the dairy. Mmmm, Tim smelled the yum smells of minces pies, chocolate and lollies. Tim had absolutely no money though. Tim sneaked in and grabbed a mince pie and a chocolate bar and sneaked back out. One thing you need to know about Tim is that he’s a good sneaker and he makes bad decisions.
