Talent Quest

"I no exactly what I'm doing for the talent quest! Kinda."

Do you know what your doing?

This year we are calling the talent quest: Student Idol. Last year I was just in the audience and I was watching it wishing that I was up there performing. So noting is going to stop me this year I repeat nothing.

The talent show is a great way to end the year. It's fun and exciting. In it to win it!

Costumes, makeup, shoes, music, singing, dancing, rapping?

Who knows what will happen so make sure you come along and join the fun of Student Idol.

Stepz

Ooooohhyeeeaar! :)

Its a Friday!
If you are wondering why I'm so happy, well, it's because, ITS STEPZ!

We are learning stepz for the leavers social and it is all going great. Our teacher Simon has been a great teacher and i hope he comes to watch us dance at the actual ball. Simon has taught us many dances including: The tango, the salsa, grease lighting , and many more. We only have one practice left, damn. Although some of us dont need the practice we just want to go and dance!

The leavers ball is going to be a blast and our yr8's are going to have so much fun and create memories that will last forever.

Have you got your dress?
Have you got your dancing feet?
Have you got a partner?
Have you got camera? If you do bring it along.

Thanks so much Simon for giving us your time.

Athletics

Sweat on our foreheads spikes on our feet, a drink of hydration and beautiful toilet .I am so glad I competed in School Athletics. Pukekohe Intermediate walked over to the Turners and Growers stadium. I go to sport events and usually come away with no medals or ribbons; but a happy and tired smile. I always try my best and as my mum always says: "Go for gold!". And so i do aswell as my sister Grace. But she gets the gold. Grace got a new P.B in high jump: 1.56! WOW! What a proud sister i was that day.

Science lab

The glasses are smashing the potions are popping the bunsen burner's heating and the classes are screaming!

My room, room 23 walked over to Pukekohe High School with our 30cm rulers, and Brendan dropped his when he was walking across th road and it broke so whn we got there he had to borrow.

I was in a group with Danielle, Jorgia and Bailee. I get along very well with these girls so hopefully everything works out. We learnt about the safety in the science room.

  • Stay on task and think about what you are doing.
  • Do what the instructions tell you to do.
  • Have your hair tied up.
  • Make sure you have safety glasses on when you are working on scientific projects.
So thats what we did! We all took turns on the projects. My favorite was using the Bunsen burner. But I got quite very jealous because it wasn't my turn to have a go and i wanted a go. But i still didn't have a go.

In the end every one had a great day and learnt alot. We all made mistakes but we will learn from our mistakes. I will look forward to learning more about science in the future.

Island style mufti

What a great cause for a mufti- island style mufti. It is raising money that is going towards helping the people in Samoa, because of th recent Tsunami.

This money will go towards building new homes for the civilians of Samoa or buying new clothing even a new vehicles. The whole of Franklin are having a mufti day on the same day so it is more money being raised for the same reason.

Only a gold coin donation.
imagine if you were in this situation.

Please help the people in Samoa.

Google 4 Doodle

Last Term our classroom and a few students from other classes entered in the Google Doodle competition. We had to design a new logo for Google that had a New Zealand Theme. We had a vote out of all the designs in our class and sent 8 to Google. Some of the kids from the other classes sent their designs through too. Havannah Pearson of Room 33 was chosen for the Top 20 in the Year 7-8 Category. She incorporated a Marae Design behind it, for the first "o" she turned it into the Maori TV Symbol, for the "g " she turned it into a Maori Poi that has the school colors on it and the "l" represents the Green stone that her Grandad gave to her earlier this year. Well done Havannah!
